Championship

I have joined 750MC to compete in the National Stock Hatch Championship. The season takes place between March and September at 10 different national circuits, see the full calendar and details of the tracks here.

National Stock Hatch Description:

These regulations help to keep the cost of racing to an absolute minimum in comparison to other motorsport formulae.

Vehicle Type
‘Hatchbacks’, available for sale in the UK for at least three years prior to the current season. Up to 1400cc multi-valve and up to 1600cc two-valve-per-cylinder. New for 2008 is the 1600cc 16v Citroen C2 VTS. There is a minimum weight including driver; the winning cars are ballasted. Cars in production before 1993 are eligable for the Class B championship which runs within the overall championship.

Engine
The original engine may be rebored by up to + 0.5mm. No modifications are allowed. ‘Blue-printing’ is as far as you can go.

Suspension
Standard configuration and pick-up points; springs may be uprated and lowered. No ‘rose-joints’ or ‘rod-ends’; only single-adjustable dampers; standard anti-roll bars.

Brakes
Standard discs and drums, no cross-drilling or grooving; no ABS unless standard; friction material is free.

Transmission
Standard gearbox and ratios and final drive for the model must be used. No LSD or similar; no traction control.

Tyres
Control tyre from 2009 is the Yokohama A048s road legal slick in medium compound. Rim width and diameter must be standard for the model.

Rounds
Usually 14 rounds in the season. Some will be ‘double-headers’ either on one day, or spread over a weekend. Two or three grids are often needed.
